Other brand new 2013 stock superjet wont effing start

so i drove 2 hours to the only lake in town that isnt still frozen to ride my new sj for the first time. before i left i made sure i put the battery in for the first time and tried to start it to make sure it had juice. it fired right up with the choke out and i shut it down immediately. i drove to the lake, put it in the water and the POS wouldnt start. i tried for an hour and a half to get it going, it started twice for a split second but died immediately. after half hour i changed the spark plugs just for the hell of it. the original ones looked fine and they had gas on them so i know the engine is getting fuel. the oil is mixed at the recommended 25-1 for break in. I tried starting it with the choke, without the choke, at half choke...couldnt get it going. finally by battery died and i left the lake more pissed off than i've been in quite some time. WTF. im not mechanically inclined at all. do you guys think its flooded? what else could be wrong? its a brand spanking new ski. i didnt think i would have stupid issues like this thats why i bought new and not used. :aargh4:

You need to start that thing before putting it in the water. The fuel lines may be empty and it will be a lot harder to prime them when there is a load on the motor.
Just pull the choke and start until the engine fires. Then open the choke back up.

Remove the plugs and see if you have spark.
If you do, do the plugs look really wet? Might crank it a few times without plugs and throttle wide open to get extra gas out.
IF they look dry, choke that thing.

If you don't have spark, talk to the dealer.

Pull the plugs, see if they are wet. Since they're that new, clean with brake cleaner and wire brush if black and wet . Ground the plugs to the head and turn it over to check for spark. If no compression tester place your thumb over the hole and turn it over, I know your thumb isn't calibrated to check cylinder psi, but if it blows your finger off pretty hard. It should be enough comp to start and run. Good luck

it has spark, just turned it over like 10 times on full throttle without the plugs in there. the plugs were wet when i took them out. put them back in. tired to start it without choke, then tried starting with choke. nothing.

Pour a little bit of gas down each spark plug hole, reinstall the plugs, and try again.
If that works, make sure that your fuel selector is set to ON or RESERVE.

ok guys i am officially the dumbest person on the face of the earth. i should be banned from this forum for my utter stupidity. the fuel selector wasnt set to on..... flipped the switch. started right up.

In OEM configuration, it will not crank when the lanyard is disconnected. You can stop the spark by pressing the stop button while cranking.
