Super Jet Brass fittings for Mikuni carb

Anyone know where I can get the brass nipple fittings that are a part of the mikuni carbs?

The plate is removed from the #2 SBN 38 carb, the restricted orifice leading to the return line became blocked, carb cleaner, compressed air, thin wire, everything I tried failed to re-establish any flow. I couldnt find much information on the best method to remove these brass parts so I heated the plate, in doing so this one fitting just cracked and fell apart-cant explain it I had not even touched it it just fell apart. The other nipple came out clean. I then drilled out the orifice, so question #2.

Assuming the engine is a bone stock 2002 701, would enlarging or completely drilling out this orifice compromise the engines ability to perform? I've read a lot about jets in return lines but couldnt find anything definitive. Should i drill it the rest of the way and use a jet in the return, and what size? or just leave it as it is now= about twice the diameter it was before.

Really People!. No one knows where I can save $120+ dollars and just buy a single fitting and or no one cares to elaborate on the importance of fuel line return pressure?
We can have 300 posts on what sort of footwear we have on while riding and nothing on this sort of topic? Someone here can contribute please, all the answers cant be at Havasu this week...

i dont think people are replying cuz they dont know where to get them. i have never seen mikuni fittings like that for sale. why not try to find a threaded brass fitting and tap it. just a thought. otherwise i think you may need a new carb.

I just checked my bins and have a couple of those fittings I pulled out of a carb before I trashed it. One is smaller than the other but PM me your address and they are both yours to try.

Drilling out the return restrictor is pretty common on performance carbs, you just have to run a restrictor in the return line. I have a #60 jet inline with my dual carb setup from X-Scream and know this size to be fairly common on many different setups so it should be a good starting point. If you can't get your pressure to be the same as before, you may need to rejet to compensate for the different pressure.

P.S. I like the Adidas Wrestling shoes myself. :bananapowerslide:

I have that whole piece on some of my parts carbs that I could sell you cheap.

definitely your best option. if you can get the whole plate for cheap it'll save you the headache of sizing a restrictor in the return line. leaving it with the fitting drilled out as you mentioned will certainly not run right.
