Surfriding Brigantine 2015 Freeride please read *NEED YOUR HELP*

With many changes on the municipal level in Brigantine its been difficult to see things through for the 2015 freeride. Now that the new city manager and new Financial development committee are settling in they are once again interested in hosting a jet ski event in 2015. After a meeting with the new city manager he made it clear that the new Financial development committee is more interested in what local economic stimulation this event would bring, Rather then the actual plan for the event

THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOU HELP!

If you attended the Brigantine Beach Bash any of the 3 years please post here with:

What type of lodging you used: hotel/motel or rental
How much did that lodging cost: $$$
How much did you and your family spend in the town: $$$ eating, drink (bar or liquor store), jet ski fuel, souvenirs..... Etc

This info will be organized in the presentation packet to show the Financial development committee and chamber of commerce why our event is an asset to the city.

If you have friends that are not on the x please help us by getting this info from them and type it in a separate post from your personal post.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!!!

please keep it all positive we are trying very hard to keep this alive. And we were told by the city manager that is event is very doable!

@Chuck32488 can I will do our best to keep an update when one is available

First of all, thank you Chuck and everyone else involved in helping to hopefully make this years ride a reality. Your hard work is greatly appreciated.

Each year at this event I spend around $400 for hotel/condo lodging. Approximately $300 in food/booze. About $150 in gasoline. About $50 in souvenirs for the wife and kid at home.

I've rented a house for $500 for 3 nights. Food/bar tab at Laguna Grill was $300 for the weekend. Gas $150. I really enjoy this event, last year was a bit of a cluster but we made the most of it. Thanks a lot Chuck.

Stayed in that house with Speedy, sounds about accurate. Not sure if going to AC and gambling away a couple hundred counts too? haha. I'd say I spent nearly $400 between lodging, food, gas, etc.

I'd like to suggest putting together a survey on surveymonkey.com. We did that with WaveDaze our first year in 2007. With only 60 skis, we were brought in about $150,000 in economic impact. With our event averaging 3-4 times that, you could estimate that number to be over $500,000 in one weekend. We included the same items in the survey that you have asked about here. surveymonkey will add some legitimacy to your poll and could be used to break down data however the city may ask you to. Just my $0.02

I really hope this event stays alive. My logic is that if the economic benefit created by this event is greater than 0, why wouldn't they want to have it. Especially during the offseason in October.
