Broke my SN handle pole...what are my options?

Well, first time out in my "new" 92 square nose. The previous owner put a brand new SN handle pole on before I bought it, so I was the first user. I put 1.5 tanks of gas through her this weekend, and attempted my first nose stab. Broke the pole 99% off about 2" above the bolt, it was held on by the little rivet plate on the right.

I have searched a ton, but can't find anything comparing options for a replacement. I'd like something stronger. Are the Round Nose poles stronger? I was thinking of going aluminum.

I know there are some very expensive options out there, such as that new tubular one from Blowsion, and carbon ones, those are out. I don't mind spending more than stock, as long as I get good bang for the buck. I don't mind modifying, and I might be able to get some machining done for free for brackets and such. Give me some options and comparisons (and opinions).

Thanks,
Steve

A stock round nose pole is stronger than a stock sn pole. The rounds are glass but have aluminum ends that will not break as readily as the sn pole. I had my sn pole on there and once you start going tricks it will break or crack quickly. I broke my 650sx pole in 5 spots  You can also do an aluminum pole if you want to spend a little more $$.

Get a shortened roundnose pole. I am in love with my fx1 pole on my square. The shorter pole puts you in such a better possition and the bars don't hit your legs. I don't think too many guys have broken the stock pole that use a limiting rope. The Stock round nose pole is very light compared to the square. I had to get a different steering cable because it was for an fx1 I'm not sure about the round poles but the cost of the cable far outweighs the price difference between the fx and sj poles.

MMMM i Always thought and have been told the square is stronger

I love my stock round pole on my square. You can chop it as short as you need and remount it. Legdrag made a killer bracket to convert it. I know there are other's out there. That was the cheepest route for me. E-bay for the pole and legdrag for the bracket, and a piece of stock aluminum as a backing plate. done for under $200.00
