Broken B Pipe Manifold (is this fixable)

so my dumba$$ was drinkin a lil last night and putting my manifold on my new ski

and kept tightening the headpipe bolts when ......all of the bolts were strippppp

wtf ?!?! went to ace today and got the m10 x1.25 and cleaned the threads out

they threaded in perfect , but when i went to torque it wouldnt go more than about 5 lbs

pulled the manifold out and this is what i encountered.

the bolt hole closest to the cylinders had two cracks in it. i touched it and the piece literally FELL OFF

then on the flywheel side there is another hairline crack

is this anyway fixable or am i screwed and need to buy a new manifold?!?!?

If a cylinder can be welded, I'm sure that can too... did you save the broken piece?

factory will replace it. this is a somewhat common problem. call them up monday.

PS dont tell them you were assembleing while intoxicated.

i had one with the ear broken off as well , i had the entire thing welded over and i redrilled the hole and tapped it out
been holding for years now

factory will replace it. this is a somewhat common problem. call them up monday.

ha ha i actually wasnt .... i idndt know it was a common issue and didnt wanna get crap for it. and will factory actuially replace it for my dumbass cross threading it an kept on torquing it in to make the pieces crack?!? ( its only aboput year and a half old too btw)

i want to get out on the water ASAP just got my new 2010 sj on wednesday and the motor isnt even broken in yet lol

No, it needs to be Tig welded, try to find a welding shop, unless FP warrantees this $230 manifold - they might not.

so i totally forgot that one of my friend's dad is a professional wielder!

showed him the part and he said he can wield it and tapp back the original threads !!!

hell yeahhhhh! he said hell do it tomm when hes at work for me.

ill post up pics when i get it hopefully tomorrow.....

oh and best part is ..... its FREEEEEEEE ha ha hell yeah!

No, he blasted it so that he could weld it without getting all your dirty, sooty, oily crap in the welds. I certainly hope you do something nice to repay him. That's easily a $50+ job

oh i always do stuff w his computer for him. i told him i owed him a favor too lol bolted it up last night after i got home from work and she sits very pretty!

gonna start her up and hope everything is fine!
