I have a few questions
-has anyone ever had a problem with mounting the ignition coils to close to the brain?

- what other options are out there besides the 500$ rrp enclosure? Does anyone have dimensions of this enclosure?
I was thinking of using one of these

Also I'm using in freshwater, am I being paranoid? I just don't have a good feeling about expensive electronics in water. Thanks for any help or pictures in advance!

If your running freshwater only I wouldn't bother with a enclosure. As wicked as my RRP box is and looks slick, it's a royal pain to work on it if you have any issues!

Many guys run them including myself open, what's most important is getting it setup by someone who knows what they're doing. Double grounded and keep everything sprayed down with CRC silicon spray or T9. Dielectric grease over switches, then a film of plastic followed by the foam/ backing plate.

Seems like a 35$ box might be easier and for sure keep it dry. What do you double ground?

I read that too. I mounted mine as far away as I could. I figured not wouldn't hurt but many people have run them much closer but why risk it?

I figure it's both DC power. There shouldn't be any "noise"..... do you have any details on that box or the fittings you used?

If your only riding freshwater, dont bother with a enclosure. Wish i had the oppotynity to only ride freshwater ! :)
I made my own MSD TL enclosure. Coils and brain and up against each other, only separated by 2 alloy plates. No issues so far.

Update: called msd and asked why you are not supposed to put the coils by the brain? Msd's respose was you could experience noise that can affect communication to the brain. He also said a piece of aluminum between the coils and brain would help
