There are so many triggers in that story...

Life savings.....

We were totally prepared....

Tired of the "Rat Race"...

No jobs and just $90 in cash...

It's not in that story but apparently they sunk in the first 20 minutes. I'm not a godly man but life gives you signs and that one was pretty obvious, however, the couple is not daunted in any way.... no surprise there! If they had an ounce of critical thinking between them they'd realize how absurd their plan was.

Don't lose the dream but maybe take some time to learn how to sail before you embark on a sailing vessel...

Good decisions come experience, experience comes from bad decisions.

I have been seeing this story all over Facebook. They use their "life savings" (10k) to buy a 48 year old 25' sail boat. No sailing experience ever. No insurance. And think they are going to sail the Caribbean with $90 in their pockets? Wow... Just wow... There is a couple I have been following on YouTube doing the same thing (but they seem to have their act together) https://www.youtube.com/user/jjohnson0882/featured

$5000 for the boat, $5000 to get it up to speed. Money came from selling all their belongings, and car. So, Basically $10,090.00 is where they started.......... Yeah....... Bad Plan here.

Maybe invest a couple hundred on sailing lessons? And now I see there is a Go Fund Me account set up for them with 14k in it already. It should say, "want to see these people drown" throw them a twenty....

I always wonder who is sending all these stupid people money? it has to be other stupid people right? how in the world???!!!! I mean are there just people goin around the internet wondering where they can throw away money to? wouldn't you want to do something important with it? find a cure for diabetes or make a wish or a battered womens shelter etc? I can get behind a big heart but damn man there are some serious ills in the world.

There are a few YouTubers that sail all over the place, they probably saw those videos and figured; how hard could it be? ...lol that tiny boat belongs on a lake, not the ocean, way to small.
Sounds like they will make more back from go fund me then they had to begin with.

Fricking idiots, hopefully they do not reproduce. Anyone who donates needs to be slapped.
Lol @ their quote at the end: “You only have one life. Why spend it doing what you don’t love. Money isn’t everything!"
It should say money isn't everything, especially when you're spending other people's money.
