So after having a few superjets and riding my girlfriends carbon backiechan and riding other people's flatwater skis. I finally got myself a flatwater ski to build. This is my first am hull I've owned.
First some history I got this ski from Mark and Sabrina Baxter (powerfactor pipe owners) after picking up amandaraejean pfp for her backiechan. I saw this brand new untouched kdx just sitting in thier garage with of course a bunch of pfp around it. So that's when I was like I want the xscream kdx.
So when the ski was built for Mark he had xscream put yamaha pump and mid shaft inserts in it like normal but he didn't have them put in any motor mount inserts and any pipe or tank or battery tray inserts because he was going to be putting a polaris based motor in it. This is how it currently sits in my garage.
The KDX weight is 43 lbs right now. I was incredibly impressed with the attention to detail and lay up. After contacting xscream I will be driving to drop this thing off to have them install the mounts perfectly from stoyer. Why mess up a perfect ski by trying to save money. I saved enough because Mark basically gave this thing away.
I am hoping to have a 1100 or 1200 motor in this thing. Obviously msd total loss and either pfp or rrp pipe. The pump I would like to go with is a 155 but this pump shoe is setup for a 148 so I will be making life easier and buying a 148.
