California boat registration goes up

So got my registration renewal forms yesterday for all my skis. Went up from $10 to $20 every two years. Still not bad but now I'm paying double. Oh well. Gotta ski right?

Here in kentucky, it's $38/year for registration, PLUS personal property taxes based on it's value.

oh ya, I get property taxes also... Those should come in the mail soon. The funny thing is, the place where I work is a mailing house. We produce bills for a lot of local cities, including our county's tax assessor.

It's about 35 bucks in Florida per year. You Californians get anally raped with auto registration, so it's amazing they would dream of upping the boat registration fees also. I still only pay like $60-70 a year for auto registration on personalized plates. I remember paying like $500 a year in Cali before I left.

WTF! I thought NY was bad. Vehicle registration is like $50 a year and for my ski like $17.50 every three years.

I just got mine also. $10 a year doesn't sound too bad. Cheapest thing on my ski really. Last 2 years gauranteed; I have no other parts like that.

tx you have to pay about 60 for registration on a car, then get it inspected and that is another almost 50 dollars. now here in north texas our emmisions tests are more strick then cali. so if your car does not pass emmisions then it could cost thousands of dollars to get it to pass.

That's cause those tree-hugging California politicians have reduced registration rates for fuel economical or hybrid vehicles....Prius' are probably $25 per year....as long as you can prove you're smug.:icon16:
