Can carbs be run backward?

Does it matter which way you run the carb(s)? My R&D intake manifold has the throttle cable in the front (near the flywheel) vs in the back.

Shouldn't matter , what size carbs? I know these work well with 44 n up.

This question comes up like once a year and there is always people that are strongly for running the carbs pump side out, I don't believe it matters.

There have been reports that the long exhaust hose can block the tiny atmospheric vent on the diaphragm cover-plate causing a tuning nightmare. Just something to pay attention to

rotating them 180* wont change anything non specific to the application like mentioned above ^

Pump side out, is said to be better due to throttle plate opening in relation to intake track.
