Other Can we run a ski without waterbox ???

Someone ask me that question, and i dont really know the answer ???

I guess its to prevent the water intrusion in the engine when the engine is off in the water ???

It's the muffler, so yes it will run without it. It will make your ski obnoxiously loud, though.

I have run alot of skis without water boxes. Not much to be gained but load noise

Nothing to be gained besides pissing people off and looking/sounding like a douche bag. You also put your ski at risk of water intrusion into the motor.

Tried it on a 550 reed and my 300, both ran like chit! I run a inline silencer on my SXI only cause I cant' fit a waterbox with my SXR dry pipe, its not super loud, but still annoying! Trying to figure out a way to fit one. The 550 would make your ears ring thru a helmet!

Waterboxes are for panzy azz people without a sack! I run my Lamey with no waterbox every weekend!!! It's freegin awesome!!!
I love getting in fights at the lake with old drunk people and then crap on their front porch when they go to sleep!!!

As for the power-my ski makes 20% more Hp on the dyno without a waterbox!!!

Would depend on your exhaust, engine requires a certain amount of exhaust back pressure for scavenging, otherwise : loss of power

No waterbox= no one liking jetskiis at lakes around here. We did it initially on our Bobs due to some mounting issue and it was obnoxious.
Its hard to keep everyone happy but we all have to try to preserve our sport.
