Carb adjustment

I have SRE 48s on my sxr. The 3rd circuit is bypassed or plugged. If adjusting my lows will that affect my highs ? Can you guys give me a little crash course on adjusting these. Like high and low speed adjusters (location) ? and adjusting in makes them leaner or richer ? Its pretty dialed in now but I believe the low speed is a little rich.

Why did someone plug the 3rd circuit? I would not do that as SRE carbs were designed to work with using that 3rd circuit! If you think you are having a too rich problem then use a smaller jets and that would be much better than pluging it off.

Not sure why they are bypassed or plugged but rumor has it thats what needs to be done. I got them this way. I believe the jetting is correct just need to fine tune with the air/fuel mixture screws. Can anyone give me a heads up adjusting these ? There are 2 screws per carb - top & bottom, looking for which one adjusts what ?
