carb question

whats up man you figure that ski out you should pressure test it let me know i have the stuff to do it

well i think i'm going to replace the seals b/c i've taken those carbs apart about 4 or 5 time now and i don't have a pressure tester but i think my neighbor does . i am almost positive that the leak is coming form the carb b/c the head is torqued down with blue silicon as the seal and there is noway it can leak there, and the exhaust manifold has a gasket and torqued down as well. so it has to be leaking through the carbs.

But i'm going to do a pressure check next month when i'm home.

JJ, do you think it would be a good idea to replace the seal in my carbs??

U should definately be using a gasket or O-ring kit for the head. Not gasket maker. It still could be leaking from your crank seals as well i wouldnt rule that out either.

If the head is machined for O-rings then thats all u should use. O-rings hold good compression. Using a sealant with o-rings will just take away from the seal. I have even seen o-ring kits used on 16 cylinder catepillar marine diesels. I would replace the o-ring kit for starters with no sealant.
