SX/SXi/SXi Pro Carb Rebuild Question

Is it normal for the formed o-rings that wrap around the internals of the carb to not be a snug fit? Will they expand? I'll get some pics up a little later.

Hopefully you can see from the pics, I suppose they'll get flattened down when everything is tightend down, it just didn't look right...

Can anybody give me a little peace of mind, or should I ditch these carbs or carb kits?

I take it your rebuilding 38 keihins? I wish I knew more about them but I have only glanced inside my 38s and 42s to make sure they looked ok and only rebuilt a 28, but when I rebuilt the 28 with all new stuff the new main gasket didnt like to sit perfectly right away, I just made sure mine was fairly snug and where it was supposed to be then closed it up, seemed to work fine...but I am still learning as I go as well, im not a great mechanic by any means just trying to help ya out a bit, my 2 cents would be to make sure it sits in the right place and snug it into place if you have to then close em up and try em, worth a shot since you have everything already? Thanks 97superjet. Yea they're dual 38's and I was thinking the same thing as far as just making sure it was ligned up correctly and then tighting it down. The only other carb I rebuilt was a 38bn for my 300 and I don't remember having these kind of rings.

On the bright side I got my coffman pipe bolted up tonight.
