300/440/550 Carb size?

Can anyone tell me which BN carb comes stock on an '87 JS550? More specific, which mm BN carb?

mikuni bn38mm is whats on my 92.... i got a rebuild kit from http://www.shopsbt.com/kaw-1992-550sx/35-140.html and it worked great

My book says bn 44 with 40mm venturi was on 86-90 91 keihin cdk38 92 newer bn38

mxd, jetskifreak is right. and i learned the 34 and 38 are very similar, while the 44's only diff is some screws in the bowl, but they all use the same rebuild kit.

does this sound right jet ski freak?

Air filter bolts are diff 3 hole or 4 hole

i believe my stock 83 js550 came with either a 44 or 42....but i may be wrong...

Come to find out it has a 38mm Round body BN. From what I read its a carb that a lot of people do not like. No jets, no accelrator pump yada yada yada. Its all that I've got for now so Ive dealt with it. Got a Mikuni rebuild kit and took her to the lake, nosed it up to the dock WFO and tuned it in. Simple adjusments. High speed screw, Low speed screw, and idle. Ive ridden it a bit since then and I cant complain.
