Carbon fiber Bicycle bars

I am machining my own steering system possibly. I was thinking about making the clamp size 31.8 so I can use mountain bike handle bars so I have a larger range of bars to choose from and the option of carbon fiber. I have a pair laying around and they seam like they would hold up well, plus they are light. They have a 5* back sweep, 3* upward sweep, and rise 25mm. I just haven't found much on this subject and I was wondering if there is any reason why this wouldn't work? I like the feel of the bars, but just mainly wondering if they are worth putting them on my ski?

We've broken a few set of metal bars, but they were many years old and broke due to weakness from corrosion.

the carbon pair on my bike are starting the delam......so i would be careful...i put alot more stress on my ski bars than on my bike bars....
