Blaster Carbon Mod Hull GP1200 Conversion - Worth it?

I have a carbon mod hull with a mild 62T/pipe etc, it's a light hull and handles like a dream. I'm considering a GP1200 transplant from a GP1200 (want to keep it yam instead of a Kawi/Yam hybrid) - is the upgrade worth doing (is the power really that much better than a 62t/pipe?) need some convincing..

Did think about going larger on 62T like an xs900 of similar but I want to keep the stock reliability.

Discuss??

Power gain is huge, tons of torque and stock reliability...just depends on what kind of riding u do. If it's for the surf and jumping waves I'd stick with a 701 platform, for rec/racing/river etc. I'd go triple.

I built an 1100 yam blaster and was way impressed with. How mUch torque they put out, also handle well with the extra weight, but went back to a 701 platform cause it didn't jump waves well to my liking with the added weight.

That's my 2 cents...can't comment how it would do with a mid hull

The type of power that a triple produces is much different than that of a bored/stroked twin. I have a mild yamaha 1100 in my blaster, and it has tons of torque, pulls from right off idle all the way to wot.

worth it all day! Tons of power on pump gas and at 1/3 the prie of any built motor. The extra 30 to 35 pounds a trip has over a twin isn't even a question with all the power you gain.
Yami kit is right here, bolt on and go.

I have a rear Raider water box and transom outlet installed already, what else do I need over the ADA bed plates - engine mounts I already have (62t ok?) what other HW and home much?

Thanks,

Jim

you will need exhaust hoses, which will depend where you put your waterbox and how you route them. I was able to use a few different oem hoses, and made them fit so I can still use the oem extinguisher tube.

Thanks you need any more HW/bolts or couch mounts?
