Super Jet carbs loading up on me????

ok 2009 sj bpipe ada head rest is stock just did the pipe and the jets that factory pipe say to use .ski runs great at first and if you where wide open, but if you where puting around at like half throttle or bropping the throttle and then go to punch it doesnt bog but its like load up on fuel and has to be burned out. once it does its fine again and the throttle responce is back till im not ripping it again. whats my problem and what should i do? why do the new sj carbs not have the high low screws with the little handles on them who makes ones for them?

The adjusters are there, they are capped with a brass plug due to emissions controls that the government mandates on Yamaha. Two ways up getting to the adjusters. 1. drill a small hole 3/32 diameter about 3/16 deep into the brass plug, find a screw a little bit bigger thread it into the hole you drilled. Lock the screw into a vise and lightly tap the with a rubber mallet , deadblow, or preferably a brass hammer. 2. Using a coping saw you can get in-between all bosses etc on the side of the carb and cut back about 3/16-1/4 " where the adjusters normally are, if you cut and still cannot see screw you need to cut back further. Even if you hit the screw you will prob want to replace the screws with t- handle adjusters anyway as the stock screws are flathead and are just about impossible to get to. hope that helps

A very easy way to get the caps off, is to drill a bunch of lil holes in a straight line, then use a big flat head screwdriver and turn the caps. I tried the screw method and it was a pain in the a$$. Order some t-handles and set the high and low needles to 1 turn out from closed, then work your way in. Good luck

when turning in the handles is their a point thats to far in and could be bad for the motor im at 1/2 turn out on top and bottom ans still feel like it needs to go in a little more?

with the new carbs, aren't the low speed adjusters a finer pitch? In other words, you need to double the amount of turns out that Factory recommends in order to get the same effective turns out?

So, only 1/2 a turn out seems way too lean to me on those fine pitch screws...

The factory pipe directions that I got with my pipe are a little misleading. On one page it says 120 low and 140 high for aftermarket air cleaners, and on another page it recommended the same jets for stock air cleaners, so that's what I ran, and it's waaaaay too rich. I'm at 140 high and 80 low right now and it's still not there yet. Still loads up like yer describing DEZ.... I'm trying 135 highs and 75 lows this week. That's what a lot of members here recommend...

those jets sizes are crazy...must be intended for a single carb set up? Go with the 75/135 or even 70/135. The online instructions for the limited b-pipe say 70/135...
