Usually due to volume of business dealing with MSD. Not sure if that still stands true today.
But most folks have found deals by just googling the part no. or google shopping. Once in a blue moon you find a vendor that has a batch at @ $170 or so. If you need one for tomorrow you are probably SOL, it's a jump on it for future use when you see it situation.

Pretty sure he means TL, total loss, not the enhancer which has gone up in recent years.
Why not ATP flame? Or epic? Better bang for your buck especially second hand.

I got a msd tl brain has less than 5 rides on it comes with rad flywheel and riva adjustable flywheel cover all inside a new rad dudes vault ebox

Only want new. Searching around on ignitions, it seems ATP have small issues and some people have gone back to MSD

They both have their particulars but either will be fine if u set them up correctly. I have had issues with MSD if u buy used or don't seal ur connections watertight and the flame (gen 1) can be finicky on initial install, but has been bullet proof for me. I haven't tried the gen 2 brain but mcdog has a brand new one in a ATP box setup by ATP and can't wait to try it out this season on a TPE 1105.
