Custom/Hybrid chin pad reupholster

I just took the old ripped vinyl off my 750sx chin pad and cut the foam down to make a little less obnoxiously large. But what kind of material can i/ should i cover it with and how?

Any marine vinyl will work just fine if you want to put another cover on, if you can get the 4 way stretch stuff it will make your life easier to cover nicely.

I just used a bit of black vinyl to do mine.

Heat is your friend when stretching it over the sides

Hydroturf and get creative, you can make some cool designs with different colours.

just got it done, ill up load some pictures tomorrow, didn't get it very smooth cause i got impatient but it beats spending $60+ on a used one and you learn a little something from it=D

ok, so now I took the bar covers off and I am attempting to upholstery them to no avail. I have tried weldwood contact cement and loctite 300 spray adhesive but niether of them held well enough to keep the vinyl tight around the corners. I might be doing something wrong aswell, any ideas?

Heat heat heat!!! Use a blow dryer or a heat gun.

heat will make it stick better?

Heat will make it a LOT easier to stretch and it won't pull at whatever glue you use. I used contact cement on the tight corners and heat to pull the vinyl in
