i wasn't going to write up a review about ChrisFiore15 because i see he has some positive feedback from other users and thought maybe i was the only one to have a negative experience with the guy... that is until i found out that my buddy is having the same type of experience with him right now, but he is out a lot more money than i was.
in october i placed a wanted ad for a round nose pole. chris sent me a message saying he had a pole and a billet mount he'd sell me, $130 for the pole and $70 for the billet mount. i was looking for a complete, bolt-on ready pole and asked him questions about the parts like condition and so-on. he kept avoiding my questions about the pole condition, so being naive i gave him the benefit of the doubt and set up the deal after seeing pictures. he would not send me pictures of the pole mount and the pictures of the pole he sent me did not have the base of the pole in the picture frame, again i thought nothing of it as i'd never had a bad experience on this site to date. when i saw the package on my porch i felt like, well, myself on x-mas morning and opened up the package. well, i see that the pole has no pole base (metal bracket that connects the pole to the pole bracket) and the "billet aluminum" pole bracket was in fact just a welded aluminum plate. I'm not knocking the quality of the bracket but it was not machined billet aluminum as i was expecting or i wouldn't have purchased it. i contacted chris about the situation telling him that what i received was not what he had advertised and that i wanted to ship the parts back and get my money back, i even offered to pay the return shipping. he said he would buy the bracket back when he had the money but straight up didn't have $200 to send back to me but he would figure everything out when he returned from vacation. a month later i contacted him again and this time he went on to say how he didn't see why i wasn't pleased because he had answered all my questions and the parts were good quality but he still didn't have the money because he had just spent $800 on books for school and just didn't have any money to spare. i was understanding of this because i know how tight money can be when you're in college, that is until i see his build thread and how he's able to spend thousands of dollars on his ski at the same time he doesn't have any money to make our deal right. again he said when he got the money he would send it to me. i contacted him a month later yet again and he said he would pay for my pole base if he or myself found one available. i finally found one and told him how much it cost me, he said he would send me the money right away, a month later i finally got it.
so as of right now i am squared away with the pole, but it took from mid oct till the end of april. i'm still out $70 on this pole bracket that i have no use for. i normally don't like sharing negative experiences on a public forum like this but i think this is a real terrible way to run a "business." i also now know that i am not the only one this has happened to with this specific seller. i admit i was dumb to send my money without seeing the bracket and without making sure i was getting what i wanted but i am a trusting person. i'm not looking for opinions on how stupid the situation was or whom you think was in the wrong, just sharing my experience to help out fellow members.
