Cold weather heated grips.

I want to do some cold weather riding and I can't decide if I want to spray the coolant water on my grips like in the pictures below or if I want to drill and tap a pivot fitting in the handle bars and drill holes in the grips so warm water oozes out on my fingers like this guy here https://www.x-h2o.com/threads/hot-hands-mod-heated-grips.127261/

Has anyone done both and have a preference? I could possibly run both at the same time. I will be riding freestyle only so it's critical my hands don't get cold and let go of the ski.

Been riding cold weather for 11 years now. No hot hands needed. Thought about it many times....

My trigger finger only gets cold when riding in sub 40 weather. If I'm wearing my Jet Pilot jacket and wetsuit, nothing gets cold ever.

Invest in a better wetsuit. I have an O'Neil 4/3 suit. I have a 5/4 and that thing is WAY tooo warm!

Generally in a good season I'll be on the water up here in Lake Ontario until it gets to about 8°c (46°f). I only ride with a 2/3 wetsuit but I plumbed in the lines to spray the water on my hands. Filling the bars I think would be a neat option but as noted above you don't get the spray on your hands and body. The excess warm water from the spray option will also get down low to whichever foot you keep forward if you choose to just cruise a little. With the spray option, there's plenty of heat and I have warmed up enough at times that I personally would overheat and just fall off the back to cool down lol. It really helps to extend the ride season and is a lot cheaper than buying a completely new wetsuit setup. For my arrangement I added just enough hose to the overboard bypass sprayer so that I could close the line with a 1/2" mini ball valve and direct it all up to my hands. I also added another 1/2" mini ball valve just before the steering pivot to insure in the summer months there won't be any hot water finding it's way up there instead of overboard because water will follow the path of least resistance, it'll go up the bars with speed behind it before it'll go around a 90° T and overboard. You just have to keep it mind which valve you want open for which time of year. Close the upper and open the lower for summer, reverse for late season cool fall, I'll get you a few pics of my setup around the start of next week :)

You must not be falling into the water enough! =)

I mean. You could move. That looks absolutely miserable. And I handle cold well. I guess there must be something keeping people in these siberian areas. We used to banish people to these places lol

Update: I ended up drilling and tapping the bars with a 90 degree swivel npt fitting and blocking off both ends and drilling 8 1/8 in holes in the grips so warm water keeps my palms warm as well as 2 sprayers on top of my hands. I'm very happy with how this turned out and I will update again on if I like the grip heaters more or the sprayers once I ride!

What are you wearing for shoes?
So I normally wear Asic Aggressors when the water is warm. With the cold water, I was planning on using some 2mm neoprene socks with them. Do you have any suggestions? Obviously, I don't want to slip out of the footholds when flipping but I also want to stay warm.

I wear 5mm socks in my Wrestling shoes, during summer months and fall. They compress down quite a bit.

In the cold I wear AQUA LUNG! (Jethro Tull) 7mm Scuba Boots. They are flexible and having plenty of grip on the bottom. But with open Footholds(no heel hold), they slip a lot more than wrestling shoes, since there are no laces. My feet stay very warm in them.
