Composite Ride Plate

Search did not turn up much regarding composite plates. Some fear they are weak and others say they are to much $$.

My current setup is a 2013 SJ with Blowsion stainless intake grate, 144 12-vane pump, 10/16 Hooker, stock nozzle and cone. Stock plate with D-cut. Have ridden this setup two seasons and have been pretty happy. The rear will dig if I make it and will slide with a twitch of the throttle.

This winter engine mods were done: B-Pipe, Head, Reeds.
After the engine mods the ski is porpoising really badly on take off and is unpredictable when turning. Last time out I put on my buddies Jet Dynamics extended plate to see if it helped. Almost no porposing and held a good line in a turn. I found it pushed the nose down a little hard for my liking. A different friend of mine has the standard Jet Dynamics plate and have not tried it out.

Now I am split between the standard Jet Dynamics plate or the Composite Blowsion plate. Both look to be of similar design. The $ is not a real issue, only looking at $40 difference.

Riding mostly consist of flat water freestyle, recreational buoys, and boat wake.
Any input both positive or negative would be greatly appreciated.

you have any composite experience. We just use a stock ride plate as a mold and make them. They are not the prettiest things out there but the function and price are right

lol got me, I just pour some thickened epoxie in the small voids when they happen. A vac bag plate would be wayy cooler but I'm not that cool. Function over form. The time spent making your ski look good could be used to progress your riding, to each their own though
