Considering a move to Austin...

Might be moving to Austin, TX in the coming weeks/months. What's the ski life like there? It will be good to be a little bit closer to some TX riders, as there's not a lot of life on skis in Louisiana.

Any other helpful info from those who know the area about life in general is welcome as well.

Start calling all of the oil and gas equipment/pipe companies and you might get lucky. My friend just got a job that way and he isnt even a welder yet but he is working his way up.

I have two buds in Austin/Georgetown. Lake Travis is a nice spot with plenty of riders...I hear. I've never ridden there and my buds r not into stand ups but they say they see em.

I spent a lot of time with in Austin a while back. I absolutely love that town and would move there in a heart beat if the opportunity presented itself. This was before I was involved in standups and do not know how the scene is there.

Plenty of riding going on here. Winter time kinda dies out with the crew on the lake. I'll be riding all winter thou.
Austin is also a good place to live. If you move down town there is plenty to do. I live on Lake Travis so it's not "as" busy as down town but still a awesome place to live and ride

Austin is great but be aware the cost of living is relatively high and it's harder to find work than say Houston, Dallas, or San Antonio.
