Converting .avi files to .mov??

Just got a new hd cam. Can't figure out how to shoot .mov files for some reason even though I know it does both. The footage we shot this weekend is in avi and it dos t seem like windows movie maker supports avi files. Can I convert them to .mov on my computer?? I'm not the best with this stuff..

yup... use handbrake. just google it. pretty easy to use too.
