converting single 44's to duals?

I've got 2 single 44's. I'm about to build a 701. is there a way to put the 2 single 44's together and use them?

is it possible? or not worth the trouble?

It is possible. Make sure that both carbs are of the same build type - there are several different SBN44's around, with different internal fuel circuitry. I think there is a number on the main body of the carb that will tell you.

Also, one carb will need the throttle shaft cut and a linkage adapter will need to be installed.

You can just replace one of the shafts with an extended shaft.Check the thread pitch of the low speed screws and count the number of off idle low speed circuitry holes.
