Cooling Line Material and Clamps

I’m curious what most people are running for cooling line? I’ve seen regular Black auto store lines, colored Blowsion lines, reinforced silicone hose, air compressor hose and who knows what else. What’s the most reliable? Do you run Oetiker clamps on parts you don’t remove often? Regular hose clamps? Worm drive seamless clamps? Just wondering what you all have to say. ;)

Silicone is the only thing I will use now. If you do use silicone, use either pinch clamps or the smooth worm gear ones, regular hose clamps will shred the hose when they tighten up.

Push to connect fittings with nylon tubing. Nylon tubing works fine on barbs as well.
Also use the colored silicone hose with standard hose clamps

Anybody run filters for their cooling? Good idea? Bad idea?

I personally don't. Haven't really seen a need to unless you just insist on starting and running your ski in super shallow water. I know the guys with laydown pipes will usually run filters on the water going to the pipes to keep the small spray orifices from clogging up. Just know, for normal recreational riding, you're just adding another maintenance item that will have to be checked. If it clogs up while one of your buddies is riding (since he doesn't know to keep an eye on the pisser) you'll be rather upset.

Absolutely. Seems like it’s not necessary but I found some in a box of my brothers parts and figured I would ask about them. I’ll also be running dual cooling, so that might be too much to have flopping around in the engine bay haha

A guy posted A thread about his engine over heating after installing the strainer on his incoming cooling water line and was not overheating prior..,

I used push connect fittings and nylon line on one ski since that's what it was setup for, and rubber hose with clamps on both of my superfreaks. Gates makes 3/8 and 1/2" heater hose so that's what I use. I used oetiker clamps on the fittings that I wasn't going to take back apart and regular trident hose clamps on the rest. Both systems work, but I prefer the rubber hose over the push connect nylon.
