Cracked intake manifold

Hey all,

I've had my '91 Superjet out on the lake about 20 times this summer, and the last few times it's been running really poorly. I've been chasing down issues and working to resolve them. Nothing has made the difference I was hoping for. Today, I decided to run a more in-depth health check and found that I've cracked my intake manifold in two places. It's a 650 single carb, and on both sides where the studs are, it's cracked. I'm assuming it's because the aftermarket flame arrestor has been installed and the carb is no longer attached up top, causing the vibration to finally overcome this weak point and break.

Besides replacing the manifold, are there any other suggestions for ways to improve the strength so this hopefully doesn't happen again?

The brace was missing when I got this ski and I never even looked into it. I've got an Ocean Pro vortex FA, which came with the ski. I'll have to see if a brace will fit and get it on there. If not, I'll see about custom-making something.

Wouldn't a plate off of a Waveventure or Raider work ?

If he is using a stock manifold it's this :

62T-14255-00-00

You would need to change the head since the bracket mounting tabs are a separate part on the head itself. Additionally, I'm unsure about the exact distance of the carbs from the engine on a 62T compared to an aftermarket intake on the 61X. I also suspect that the carbs may sit closer together on the 61X due to the intake design on the cases.

That part number was straight off of a 1996 Superjet fiche , but yeah if is running an aftermarket intake he would have to make his own plate , but he said RN so I was assuming it had a Superjet 62 T -61x top end on it.

The previously owner dropped in an sbt motor (I think this one https://www.shopsbt.com/jetski/yamaha-engine-701-s-blaster-superjet-1994-1999.html)

The carbs are dual 38s with those ocean pro vortex SA.

I'm new to this thing though so I'm not sure exactly what head is on it? Sbt website says 701s but I guess that doesn't tell me much.

As for the intake manifold... I'm not sure if it's oem or aftermarket? I can pull the carbs if I know what to look for

If you have dual 38s on a 62t motor, then your intake mani is stock. You can use the stock brace under the ocean pro filter.
We have clean, used ones in stock if needed for 650/6m6 and 61x, 62t, or 64x carb setups.
