Time bomb IMO. Heating/cooling cycles plus vibration won't be very good for it.

you could use a diegrider and cut that portion out like some engine builders do when porting, etc.

if you have the option to get your money back, id say go for it.

Its on the exhaust side
a major thrust side
you are thinking about the intake side
you cant grind that out

I've seen big bore cylinders that have had both the intake and exhaust sleeves cut off, because they get thin @ 84mm.... better to get rid of them than risk cracking them off.

It will probably cut down on your piston life, but who knows how much. Probably not much if you're not racing.

Well this particular cylinder that I saw was a high compression superstock cylinder... so it must work pretty well.
