Competitive crankshafts in Cali. Top notch work.
It's hard to best Jetmaniac's deal on the SBT's though. He gives a 1 year replacement warranty too!

Check out competitive crankshafts. I think they are between $300-400. I've spoken with him in person when I needed a rebuilt on my first ski. He helped me a lot and specifically told me to stay away from the sbt cranks. On the other hand I have had an sbt crank in my ski (came that way) for over a year and its been fine.

For me when I need to rebuild ill spend the extra couple bucks and go with competitive crankshaft. I'm sure there are other great builders out there that take pride in their work and use quality bearings and rods.

I once bought a competitive crankshaft from a dealer...got crank and the front bearing had the words Nice Rich stamped on it which is a taiwan bearing company...oem Japan Seiko Koyo uses high carbon steel that last...this is why Yamaha trust their name with them....nuff said.

I returned the crank...but maybe competitive has bearing options IDK.

I have known Jeff Seabold of Competative Crankshafts for 20 yrs. Competative Crankshafts doesn't use Tiawan bearings. The simple fact that they've been around that long is a testiment that they do solid work. Companies who do shoddy work get a bad reputation rather quickley, especially is a community as small and tight as ours. The dealer you purchased it from most likely made a mistake or lied to you about where they got it.

The crank was an ADR ( Aaren Davis Racing) who built them at Competative Crankshaft, he shares/shared residency with Competative Crankshafts which Aaren also owned or still shares ownership. I confirmed with Aaren that he used Taiwan Nice Rich bearings. I would like to find out what bearings your friend Jeff uses. The Nice Rich is said to be a high end quality bearing but I was promised Koyo by the dealer.

I just requested another Patch Crank rebuild myself. Best price is SBT or Jetmaniac, Patch charges by what parts you select to use. He is very busy now, but worth the call, but then again anyone mentioned on this thread is very reputable. I just like to support my local guy.
