Crank seal grease

Is marine grease ok to use to pack the crank seals? And is it good for the mid bearing? Or should I be using a racing high speed grease? When I did crank seals before I used maxima marine, but I’ve been told I should use a racing high rpm grease

Ive always used marine grease and never had any problems. The Yamaha shop manual says "apply water resistant grease"

Marine grease is fine and what I use. Heck, I've used Lucas Red & Tacky as well with no issue after many years.

Also when assembling bottom end, just sealant on one case right? And can I wipe any excess that squeezes out

Yes, you only need it on one half and a very thin layer. I'll usually spread it around uniformly with my finger.

Any excess that comes out, can I wipe around the seam with like a rag and lacquer thinner?

Or just a paper towel. You shouldn't need any thinner if you wipe it while it's still wet.

You can wipe off the outside but not the inside. That's why you don't want too much.
