D-cut dimensions and best method?

I want to take my stock SN rideplate and do the D-cut mod to it. I haven't found much info on how deep and wide of a cut to make. Does anyone have any specific info on this?

Also, was curious what the best way to do this would be. I have an angle grinder/cutoff wheel. I could go out and pick up a jigsaw with a metal approved blade. Perhaps a ~6" holesaw. What have you guys used that worked or didn't work? Thanks!

take a big coffee can, dinner plate , bowl or whatever, set it on there, mark it and hack it out! don't even do it! unless you are a skeleton taped to the bars, it makes the ski ride like crap and it helps nothing. it don't help barrel rolls and you aint doing flips unless you're in big surf, where it don't need to be cut anyway. all it does is expose the plastic steering nozzle to get broke if you ass land In shallow water, bump it on the trailer or look at it cross eyed.

I have a d-cut on my SXR and I love it. It helps when riding surf to keep the nose up, and it makes my SXR feel very short. I can carve buoys with this plate and still slide/slash on command. It's the Blowsion Kenny Lip Ripper, a little more aggressive than a stock D-Cut plate with taller chines.

I've seen seasoned SXR riders get on my ski and not even be able to ride. My buddy with a 2014 Super Jet doesn't trust my ski at high speeds. I like it loose and riding on the edge.

I found that when I flush cut my stock ride plate it was enough. You can try that first and then if you want more its no issue. To take a folgers type can ~8" and lay it half on there and cut away. The great news is a stock plate is cheap so if you effit up you're not out much $$$$. :)
