Damage from shipping on cases. Safe?

I just bought some cases here on the x and they were very clean and I trust the seller. The damage are dents and dings on the sealing surface of the front crank seal and on cylinder deck surface. Just wanting to know what actions to take and if they would be safe to run.

Wouldn't think that would happen if packaged well..... If your going to keep them, I'd knock down any high spots on the case half where it's marred. Knock down any sharp edges in the seal area and use a little 1211 on the low spots in seal area

Thanks for the reply I was thinking I could get away with 1211 on the seal area. The boxes they came in were pretty damaged upon first inspection of the outside of the box. I was suspicious of what damage had occurred on the inside.

Something come thru the box, like stab it and cause the damage ? I was thinking not enough protective wrapping surronding the cases, or bouncing around in the box and one half damaging the other half. But if the box was damaged like you said, sounds like it went thru hell in shipping, that bits man

I hope that wasn't a blow at me. How does everyone know I love zip ties! Lol. My hood is going to remain shut for now on hahah
Not at all, but some people can't justify giving up a few screws to ensure their parts arrive safely.

Lol no I was just joking haha. Totally agree tho. I have a bucket of bolts and going down the street to grab a couple is cheap safety. I'm sure seller didn't mean anything by not installing bolts. Just chit luck. Hope cases work out for you tho OP
