damaged Pump

Took my wife's Kawasaki STS ski for a ride and noticed it was noticeably slower. Started checking into it and found she had taken in rock which took off some 1/2" chunks from the pump splines and damaged the impeller. Am looking to replace the impeller and wondering if I can just smooth out the chips on the impeller's spines.
