Been around 9 years since I have had a jetski related injury. Was riding SXR Saturday doing some hard turns. Went into a right hand sweeper and had to tighten it up. Rear broke loose with me laid out in turn. Then it grabbed. All my weight projected to my left ankle... went to sports med dr today. Possible strained or torn ligaments in my mid foot area...... so, wearing a walking cast / boot for 3 weeks. This six.

BK: Your sports med doc knows more than I do. But I tore up two or three of the ligaments in my ankle water skiing and windmilling with one foot still in the boot. I have also torn ligaments in my knee (ACL) and my shoulder supra spinatus).

Stay on top of your doctor because once the ligament retracts, they often cannot or will not pull it back to reattach it.

The foot surgeon who fixed my ankle was a superhero. He has his own squirrel suit and has done over 5,000 jumps in the Army reserves. He did a fellowship in ankle surgery. My ankle is great (although I am afraid to water ski, and haven't been in the foot straps of a windsurfer since, and the whole concept of foot holds in a jet ski scares me.)

No foothold involved. He does not feel that this is bad since I waited 5 days. And level of pain.

He told me many don't even use the boot. I asked his recommendation. Not taking chances.

If you want that sprain/strain to heal a 1/3 to a 1/2 times faster than normal healing, try Hirudoid Forte Cream/Gel Made in Germany.

I've used it a lot during my soccer days to quickly heal bumps, bruises and turf toe. Most of the time, to get rid of a big "Mouse" on my shin; would heal in 3 days of treatment.

Not cheap but very effective. Sold all over the World over-the-counter. Make sure it is made in Germany.

Recently it was found to eliminate varicose veins so the Chinese are making inferior imitations to steal market share.

Man that is tempting to try but I have lost faith and live by caveat emptor these days.

Day 3 of the boot. Yesterday morning waking up, walking to bathroom to get shower, getting out of shower and walking on it hurt like hell. This morning I got up and had zero pain getting to the shower, dressing, etc etc............... Good sign...........
