damn UMI steering nut

take off the chinpad and squeeze some vicegrips onto the nut and pull up while unthreading maybe?

the threads on the stud could be stripped. ask jesse for details.

:haha:

The Penguin

triple secret probation
finally got the damn thing off

had to go after the nut with a dremel tool and cut off wheel.

somehow I stripped the threads off the bottom of the stud - and that's why the nut would not come off.

now what? I can double nut the stud to catch the top threads for a temporary solution.

new spindle piece from UMI or X-metal? what would you do?

I don't know much about the UMI system, mainly because I'm po and am still running the stock shiz. I know that Neil aka RMBC Freeride has made some kind of replacment bearing kit to get rid of the steel bearing that fails. He might be able to give you some suggestions on other pieces parts.
