Not sure if this is in the correct section, drivetrain seemed to be the right thing

Considering buying a ski that comes with the dasa 785, compression is at 209 and 210, are there domes available to lower the compression so the engine can be run on pump 93?
Also if I were to sell just the engine, starter flywheel stator, but no ebox or exhaust, with dual buckshots (not sure of size or intake mani), no f/a's, what would be a fair price that I could sell the engine fairly quickly at? I will be going to the brigantine beach ride and would get it this weekend or on my way to the free ride.
This is the picture of the engine I was sent

cylinders say 61x taking a closer look so 701, but I guess this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, its not a dasa cylinder just ported and bored by them, so I would definitely be able to get pump gas domes for it? And what's the engine itself worth? I'd imagine a good deal less than with the dasa cylinder and a stroker

Appreciate the help guys. I would have been pretty pissed if I got home and realized its not a dasa. Is this engine still good/what would you say a conservative price for it would be? If it actually is a 785 ported and built by dasa, dont want to overpay and want to have the option to sell it and at least break even if I buy it

Since the info about the motor you are conveying to us is weak the only way to know for sure is to talk to the actual builder or tear it down and measure everything. Too bad seller couldn't give you more info on it and if he said it was a DASA, that infers to most a DASA cylinder. That engine clearly does not have a DASA cylinder as mentioned. If he said it was built by DASA, and doesn't know specifics, you would need to speak with them or tear it down. If its an old DASA built 785 I would think its an old Super Stock motor. Probably makes great power mid and up. Get specifics before you spend money, sketchy buying a engine from someone that doesn't have information on it.

I'll try, its in a package deal now and he had gotten it with some other stuff, said he didn't have much info on it himself, I asked him about the oem cylinders, I'll ask if he has name of previous owner as well, again I appreciate the help and advise guys, I have basically no knowledge about this stuff

If it is in fact a 6mm stroker crank, the bore would be 82mm and come out to 781cc to be a legal cc limit in the 785 cc racing class.
Pulling off the head would be simple to measure the bore and see if the info makes sense.

I asked him about the writing on the head and if it was built by dasa since it wasn't a dasa, he sent me a pic of the writing

So that probably would have been a give away when I got there.
He said " Sorry for the false info. The motor was actually built with ada racing parts. The motor was purchased off ebay about three months ago by my buddy. I know it's a 62t bored over to the 785. "

I had a 62t/62t 760cc engine with the same head.. The domes are interchangeable. Just because it says "785cc" doesnt mean it is.
Like wanderer said, its sketchy buying something like this without knowing what your getting. The only real way to find out what it is, is to tear down and measure everything.

Is the shell for this head is the same as a 701 Ada girdled head? Or The domes for a 701 will fit in it and function? Is it an o ring head, would I be able to pull off the head when I'm there and measure the bore, and pop domes out of head to see what size they say, will all o rings need to be replaced after that?

Dude, this thread should be done and you should be shopping somewhere else. "Sorry for the false info" translates to "ah ya caught me lying but I still want you to buy this". Good luck man. EDIT: Title says "6 Mil stroker", there are now spacer plates for the extra stroke on a stock cylinder. That must be a very special head to take the extra stroke. Once again, forget about this one and if this is a "package deal" who knows about the other stuff.
