@yamaslut shared a facebook post to support a councilor for his area. The councilor is one of the very few who support beach driving. Since people like that seem to care about money (Edit: I'm talking about the ones against beach driving), it made me think, how much money do we bring to that community?

READ BEFORE VOTING.

- Only include money spent BECAUSE of beach driving.
- Do NOT include trips for NASCAR races or the otherwise. ONLY beach driving related activities.
- Do NOT include money spent at vendors who are not local to Daytona. This money doesn't stay in that community.
- Only include fuel and food purchased in the community. Do not include fuel or food you brought with you or bought during the drive outside of Voulisa County.

- Include all money you bring to the area. Lodging, food, entertainment, fuel, cabs, etc.
- You can include your event fees because a portion of the proceeds is donated to the Jr. lifeguards.
- You can include zone passes if you have to buy one of those.

Please vote ONCE for MONEY and for TIME (last 2 votes on the bottom). Please do not vote for 2 different $$ mounts as it dilutes the validity. Number of votes for time stayed should be very similar to all of the $$ amount votes.

Use your best estimate on the amount, if in doubt, round DOWN.

$330 Lodging - 3 nights $110 / night
$12 - Breakfast $4/mean 3 meals (wife skips)
$60 - Lunch $15/meal 4 meals
$150 - Dinner $50/meal 3 meals
$100 - Fuel $3.40 / 30 gallons (1 Regular fill for the truck, about 15 gallons premium for the ski)
$30 - event pass (Wife skips)

About $650.

This year, my wife will have her SXR, and Ryan is suppose to come, so event reg and fuel will probably double, and food will increase by half.

I know when it comes to spending money in Daytona, I'm a low-roller.

We were also discussing making 1-3 extra trips per year, not included because we haven't done them yet.

I bought a vacation house in Daytona solely because they allow beach driving and have the jetski zone. If they ever get rid of either, I will put the house up forsale that day....lol. Luckily for us, the whole beach driving issue came up because the Volusia council members were going to vote on eliminating it behind the new Westin hotel. That was squashed but the issue is sure to come up again. If anyone is interested, there is a PAC forming to protect beach driving and they have a facebook page:

When I used to hotel it..I typically spent between $1000-1500 on restaurants, bars, beer, groceries, and jetski gas on a week long trip.

I clicked to join. Beach driving is what makes Daytona Daytona.

Granted we stay 10 days but I easily spend 1500 IN Volusia county (honestly on the low side) in those 10 days. And I'm ONE of four that go every January and spend equal amounts each. Two of which do not have an "x" account. So my honest vote of 1500 could be tripled for my two friends that can't vote

Around 500-700 in four days. Each guy. 4-8 guys in our crew. I would assume everyone is around that. Is about $150 a day between lodging, fuel, food.

Bump. Only like 10 people felt this was interesting enough to spend 5 seconds clicking 2 boxes?

I started this topic after learning about attempts to stop beach driving.

We may not be locals, but we are stakeholders.
