Custom/Hybrid Deal on two part foam ?

I have run across what I believe may possibly be a smoking deal on two part foam, I sent in a query to see what weight this foam would be equal to for our application. Two part foam is two part foam is two part foam, the difference is in the weight and expansion rate of the foam, the higher the rate of expansion the less the foam density will be, this can be adjusted in pour foam by adding minute amounts of water to the foam, The system I am posting about is in spray form so there will be no adjustment possible.

Found a physical properties PDF file if you can make heads or tails of the data, this is 1.75 pcf foam, the kit will make 1 cubic ft of foam, the same yeild as a small 4lb kit from US composites.

$37 for 1 cuft sounds pretty expensive. It's been a while since I bought foam, but it seems I never paid more than $50-$60 to do a Superjet (4 cuft?)

we use this same kit at work just in propane tank sizes it doesnt expand that much unless you spray and constantly overlap and is easy to control mostly used for insulation purposes,my guess is your going to be doing a hull, should work fine it also doesnt absorb water or get soggy overtime so should be good, the kit should come with different tips also,and wear safety glasses haha

It depends, if you are doing it with crappy two pound foam yes, if you are doing it with 4lb foam, by the time you figure in US composites crazy ass shipping charges you are about the same price also I believe there are price breaks on some sites for multiple kits.

its pretty hard, you can put finger marks in it if you push very very hard on it we use it for stacking things we ship if i were going to refoam i would use this, however there are some other methods that work just as good as foam. pm me if interested

I am doing a flat deck X2, I installed a new pump tunnel so the pump cavity is wide open from the top, also I have to build up the foam and ramp it up in the back, my thinking is this will be much more controllable for this process and I will have less waste, lots and lots of waste trying to shape with pour foam. I probably will use pour foam to seal back around the resonator under the right foot well and the scupper tube under the left footwell though.

Judging by the spec sheet it says 8% open cell so I would say yes it is closed cell foam. I guess if you want we can call it 92% closed cell foam or 8% open cell foam lol

We are paying $60 fpr a 2 gal combo 0f 2 or 4# pour foam locally . Most places sell for $40 for 2 qt kit plus shipping YIKES.
I have ridden ROK hulls with foam and ROK hulls without both built by me or Toby and they ride NO different and feel NO lighter or heavier.
I still feel foamless will prove ignorant for someone, even though there is not alot of area in the new aftermarket hulls it can still help with strength and slow the sinking down some.

I admit that I answered "no" only because I have yet to see a Polyurethane foam that is closed cell.

I am no mechanical engineer, but doesn't spec just mean the percentage of cells that are open (i.e., cut open) when you slice the material? In other words, it's just a measure of porosity.
I guess I am just skeptical.

Edit: After looking it up some more, I guess every 2-part polyurethane foam is considered closed cell.

Yes I am pretty sure the percentage is a measure of porosity, any pour foam I would think would have a higher percentage of open cells than this unless you did one massive pour and let it spew everywhere. I am probably pulling the trigger on this if it does not work on the ski, I have plenty of insulation uses for it around here, it won't go to waste. I have poured enough foam to have a pretty good feel on whether it will work or not early on.
