Did Wiseco develop a crank?

I thought they were going to come out with a line of complete cranks but I don't see them on the site.

Hot Rods are now Taiwanese, right?

As far as I know Hot Rods was always Taiwanese,Wiseco just distributed Hot Rods cranks for Hot Rods for a while.

How come people say that they have gotten much much worse then? I thought they were US made and distributed by Wiseco and others and then went overseas and that Wiseco was going to come out with their own in house stuff?

Anyone else know anything?

No not right this second....but they do seem to come around often enough for the same price as hotrods ($475.00)

Speaking of which....what the hell ever happened to Nikad (Butch)?

OEM uses better bearings (quality control=$$), the Hot Rods crank bearings (lately) don't last in performance applications. If you are just re-building a stocker, use Hot Rods,SBT,ect.

When you guys find a source for less expensive OEM cranks, post the link up!

I have personally never had issues with the Hot Rods cranks but, they are going in bone stock couch motors,I wouldn't really want to build anything nice with one.

I went with Hot Rodz mainly for the price. I found someone on PWTyesterday selling them for 350.00. I thought Hot Rodz was suppose to be the $hitz untill I got the crank and saw the TAIWAN sticker on it.

I do have 3 good used OEM in the closet, but I ended up with these AFTER I did my build.
My motor is stock stroke with a mild port job, so Im thinking Im ok.

Other option is to rebuild stock with stock bearings. But those aren't cheap either.

You can get an OEM crank rebuilt by Crankworks to $500ish.
It's more expensive than a HotRods crank, but it's nicer quality.
I had mine done not too long ago.

IMO and experience the SBT crank is just as good as any Taiwanese Hot Rods crank.
Twat Rods crank shafts arent what they used to be..

Then why buy SBT too? And the question I am wondering is why are the twat rods (lol) cranks not what they used to be? Just curious.....did Taiwan outsource to Nigeria? LMAO!

Bearings and webs have changed on the HotRod cranks, which led to some problems.
This is what I heard also weak webs and crap bearings,I cannot say for sure on the webs but I can say for sure they changed the bearings to cheaper units.
