do you think this stand up jet ski receiver hitch carrier would be strong and secure?the

I have a 2015 Yamaha superjet and a guy at the lake this weekend showed me is set up with this receiver hitch carrier and two by four bunks. It is pretty cool because it has a handle to raise and lower the carrier by a total of 13 in but I wanted everyone's opinion on if you think it will be sturdy enough and safe enough

Forgot to mention the weight capacity says it will hold up to 500 lb and I will be using pressure treated wood and galvanized hardware

You launch in the ocean or fresh water? I like my hitch hauler if I’m just taking 1 ski to the lake but I use a trailer for the ocean. Not putting the whole back end of my truck in the salt water.

Could be an option yes. I have had many carriers over the years that have been made from this or that. The best thing for me about the EZ Ski is the light weight and ease of moving it around.

They make similar ones for dirt bikes and motorcycles, I’ve used then for my dirt bike and the only issue that concerns me is that the receiver/hitch set up does not allow for secure attachment. The entire assembly is just pinned in and wobbles a lot. I haven’t had a failure though.

Is that a typo, $35? There is no way I would trust my ski on a $35 rack. Where do you think corners were cut to even get the price that low? What gauge is the tubing?

I spent more on steel alone for the rack I built.

You should put the money you saved on that hauler towards an umbrella policy with your insurance provider. The extra liability coverage will be money well spent for the day that hauler drops your ski in front of someone’s vehicle on the highway.

That happened a few weeks ago with a friends ski. Though it was not the hitch that failed. but I believe there was another car that was damaged.

I am building it out this weekend and will test it around the block. I will p[ost pics when done to show you all. If you do not think it will be safe I will order a professional one. Not really about the savings but I just like building things...

So here is what we built last week

We used pressure treated wood for the Bronx and the frame is very strong tubular Steel that says it will support up to 500 lb

Please let me know your thoughts and if you could give me advice on the best way to tie it down that would be wonderful

How much up/down are you really gaining w/ the crank? Standard , proven hitch hauler would be my choice. G/l with that
