does PM read receipt work?

I've still got a pending read receipt on a PM to someone who's obviously read my PM because they posted it. is it supposed to work? does it work normally?

you got me there, did not even know we had that option.

Yes it works, but the person receiving the pm has the option of whether to send the receipt or not, so if they hit Cancel you won't get it.
