SXR Does this ride plate look like your stock SXR 800?

Bought this off eBay a month ago and tried installing it last weekend.. There is a lip that will not allow it to mount up with my aftermarket intake grate... What gives? Is it the wrong ride plate or do I just have to shave it off???

I'm an idiot.. That's actually the grate I need, the one I bought looks like that except in the back (where it meets the pump shoe) there is a tiny lip running up about 4-5"and looks like it needs to be shaved off in order to get it to fit.

I'm going to bet that you have the r&d intake grate. They are made to work with the r&d rideplate specifically but you can just cut the little lip off and use them with any rideplate. Stupid design by r&d imo, more of a marketing thing than a functionality thing.

Yea I have the r&d but what boggles my mind is why the picture I posted has no lip but this one I got off eBay does.

Because the person who had thay.rideplate before.you trimmed it to fit with the r&d intakegrate
