Done For The Season

Old, but still ridin'!!!
Went to the Ortho today and he confirmed that I blew my ACL and MCL. I go in for the MRI tomorrow, and the scope is scheduled for Thurday.

Looks like I'm going to be out for about 5 months. :banghead: :banghead:

Here's a couple pics of it from last week. It's not nearly as swollen now, but the bruising is in full effect.
I'll post a couple new one's that show the bruising along the area of the MCL later.

Been there- that's a shi**y injury to have. My knee looked like yours. I was riding with a brace and taking it easy on it about 5 or 6 months post op. If I had to do it all over again, I would have done the cadaver ligament replacement. I did the hamstring tendon swap, and from what I understand the recovery time is longer and I still have weakness in that leg. Make sure you get a good doctor, and do all the physical therapy. Make sure you move the leg a lot after surgery, despite the pain- you'll be up and about quicker. The only advantage to having the hamstring tendon is it is much stronger than the ACL...chances are it won't blow out again once it is set. Hang in there; you may be able to catch the tail end of the season.

I blew the right acl and had 30% of my mincuis removed back in 04.
Had surgery april 30, 04. Was back in the water on my stxr by July 4 and back on the sxr by august.
So, hurry up and have surgery and you'll still be able to get some riding in this year. Good luck dude

This will be my third scope, but the first full tear of anything. I've had two on the right knee, a partial ACL and miniscus, then a lateral release so I'm familiar with the process. .

I'm hoping to do the same thing I did the first time. Rehab the he** out of it and be back ahead of schedule. :Banane01:

That's what I'm going to do. My doc said basically the same thing, that the cadaver replacement is a better option and recovery is quicker.

Get well soon is about all that can be said. You already told people you did this sober and on the 50, so I can't be an eyewitness to the 98% double barrel roll you pulled.

Just plain me....
Sorry to hear you're going to be down. Just glad me & my worms had nothing to do with that. I would have really felt bad. But I'll send you a batch to make you feel better during recovery

That would have been a much better story. Next time you can be my PR man.

He** it would have been a better story if I would have been drunk at the time, then at least I'd have some excuse for wadding myself up on the beach.

That sucks man  Just ride a couch until you're ok! We all know you just sit there, plus you can get some water splashed on you if you try really hard :haha:
