Hey all.
Took out my superjet engine for a few reasons. One of which is I could hear a 'clanking' noise that sounded as if the prop was scraping on the wear ring or something but they are both spotless. I found that when I rotated the midshaft it would 'clank' against the driveshaft. When the motor is running this is amplified into a constant rattle.
So first thoughts were either screwed driveshaft or midshaft (or both). Cleaned out the midshaft and put my spline tool into it (as if I was removing the coupler) and it was a super snug fit, no play at all. And the driveshaft doesn't seem to have that much wear on it. I've attached a few photos of the driveshaft. What are peoples thoughts. Thanks in advanced.
