I am about to take delivery of my new hull and I have an agent that swears I will be covered. They quoted me with a Progressive policy. I swear there has been a few guys dropped. If you have been or have a similar story let me know. I would like to get a case # for an example.

Thanks!

I had my skis insured with State Farm and when they found out I had modded my sxr, they wouldn't cover me. They only cover 100% stock skis. After being with them for 20 years, I was forced to find another insurance company.

Who are you with now?

Really ? i have insured .but for me it was for the benefit of others ,theft ,injury ,ect just in case for instants a ski gets away from a rider at speed or malfunction and god forbid hurts someone . not so sure how a claim for a stunt riding freestyle hull will work out .sure they might write a policy for it ,but a claim for a freestyle mishap imo your riding a fine line of fraud .but hey more power to you if your from the mind set thinking that sinking your ski in some trick attempt should be covered .im sure most of the guys in all sports that try to fly or backflip something are covered right ?

I think having the insurance is a great idea ,sure . But for Theft ,injury ,collision ,liability .not for like my hood came off and my ski sank . haven't heard of many claims or what insurance company in there right mind would cover this .and would love to see the verbiage on such a policy

I'm getting in contact with an underwriter. I'm not worried about hood.

Years ago I lost a ski out in the surf and it got smashed on the rocks, Progressive covered it 100%
The way I see it is if someone takes my money and offers a policy, they are covering my investment regardless of HOW the loss happens. If they don't, what's the use?

This is what I'm worried about stuff like that. Thanks for sharing. So progressive does pay out.

Hey im not saying its not possible ,but it sounds like a fine line to me .your talking about a stock ski correct ?

Good point Rubberchicken, I smashed an OEM ski, so maybe our "homebuilt" skis leave more room for these companies to deny a claim?
