dropped the ski

I was unloading my ski from a freinds truck onto my trailer and I pulled on the back of the ski but my freind wasent ready at the front. It fell inbetween the bunks of the trailer and part of the trailer put a hole through my ski. Its not a big deal really because its an old squarenose but i want to go riding tomorrow. I know how to fix it with fiberglass but do u guys think some ducktape will get me through a day of riding? haha I have a picture but im not sure how to add it

Duct tape will peel off there in 2.3 seconds. It will likely be gone before you can even stand up! Sorry, gotta do this at least somewhat right. Surface won't have to be perfect, but better make it reasonable smooth or your patch will peel out.

Gotta grinder out inside and out to nice taper. Then use matte glass w/ epoxy resin and lay up on inside and let it set to almost full cure then lay it up on outside until it is thicker than OEM, let it set till cured then grind bothe sides flush. Then for looks only come back and use a fairing filler in the epoxy to smooth it on out on outside. You said in 1st post you know how to glass but just figured I would through this out there anyway, it is a minimum 2 day job due to cure time on epoxies. Polyester resin will NOT work with a square nose or the bottom deck of a RN.

Once, my wife jumped some BIG waves and broke the front of a kawasaki 750ss ( sitdown)

I patched it with packaging tape just to swim it to the trailer, it held up so well, I rode it for the rest of the weekend like that.

it was MUCH worse of a hull breach than that little bitty whole youve got there.

put tape on the inside and outside, and GO RIDE.

i guess im going riding tomorrow! haha The way i figure is, if water gets through the duct tape its only going into the engine compartment it wont saturate my foam with water. i'll just ride with the bildge pump on and check it often.
