I just bought some dual carbs for my 650 x2 and wanted to know if they will be worth the trouble. I also bought reed boosters and wanted to know how these will affect me?

Some people think dual carbs on a 650 are better, I don't. I haven't heard you get better power, just a bit crisper response. If you have everything needed for them and they are an upgrade over what you have, may as well.

I have tuned 44s on a 650, they will make the pipe hit a little harder once tuned. You probably wont be very happy if they arent well tuned, most people struggle getting to that point, even with a single. Reed stuffers have limited value on a 650.

they are 38's, but I have a single keihin 44. What do I need to do to tune them in? Take it down to the local dyno shop? I also just purchased a Dales Bad Attitude Cdi coil. Does any one know about these coils?
I am also looking for a light weight fly wheel if any one has one or knows where I can get one?

i would run dual's since they are 38's. You just got to take it out to lake or ocean and tune them. you want to start with jets, once you get your jets correct then move to the tuning needles. but just make you have the same adjustments on both carbs.

I have heard of the coils but I have never used one. my friend is running one on his sx650 and he didn't get a knowtestable difference. So I dont know if his is worn out or what but I would use it, its got to be better than stock atleast.

I had some one off this site build me a 750 bored and ported and he lightend my fly wheel for really cheap, I am sure he would lighten your fly wheel for a good deal. Pm if you might be intersed I can give you his name.

what will reed stuffers do? I ride in the ocean and want power to hit the wave quick, Is this what they are ment for?

Reed boosters are just going to give you more throttle responce. I personaly think they are worth doing once you do your major Mods like sbn 44, pipe, prop. Once you have those I would suggest getting boosters if you just want to get the extra edge on your power.

I found this info on here awhile back for tuning a 38. This is a good start point.
