Custom/Hybrid dvx vs hurricane

Hi, Looking for anyone that has ridden both hulls, I have ridden a hurricane but not a dvx, just wondering how different the ride is, don't have the chance to ride both so looking for opinions.

D-Roc

I forgot!
I only test rode them. My point is that they are always setup different because of rider preference. When I try mr X's ski, regardless of what hull, it will alway ride the way he likes it. Yes different hulls have different fit and finish but, they are all short wide and light compared to a superjet. Even both identical hulls owed by 2 different people will feel different. In reality you will be happy with how either ride after some tray time and dealing of pole length and foothold position. To me, hull choice is by quality, fit and finish, resale value, local availability. How the hull rides will be up to me to dial in to my liking. Sorry this is not answer you where hoping for. Just be aware that when test riding skis, if they are not tuned and rode by the same guy, results will vary.

I would get a dvx. Xscream will respond to questions and help you out once the hull is delivered.

I think both companies in question would do that. They have been at it now for several years and many hulls. The quality of both hulls I seen are adequate and the fit/finish are also much better than previous generations. I would be happy riding either hulls.

There have been cases of poor quality finish from both if those companies. I am also in the market for one of these hulls for next season. Sucks hearing about some bad quality controls but each company slips up. The better question is who stands behind theirs a bit more. I will most likely also buy used. Less depreciation and any fit and finish issues have already been discovered and addressed. I think @D-Roc made a good point. You will like each hull with some tray time and each person will have their own preferences but does not make one stand out more than r the other. Both good hulls and companies. Which do you like more and if it's in your budget will be the key factor

I just picked up a C3 hurricane from Hurricane Industries and I really pleased. Derrick is always working and that means he is always available unless it's a Sunday when he is playing paintball. I think the quality is excellent and I had a 2 page build list of things I wanted done to my hull and Derrick came through with each request. I have ridden both skis. It's very true that each persons setup is different even if they are the same ski. Also what motor and pump setup will make the ride really different. Both skis are world championship winning skis. I would suggest riding both of them. For flat water IMO the choices are DVX, Hurricane, or Revolver. One thing with buying a Hurricane is paint, graphics, turf, and decals are all included in their price. That's something to consider if you want a bolt together ready to go machine.

Oh I forgot to add...put Lee Stone on any ski and it will flip higher, spin faster, and look better doing anything. He has proven time and time again he can set foot on anything and make it shine. I'm new to flipping/any stunts...so take my opinion lightly. Again...go spend time on skis you want to test out.

Lol ouch. Don't like the hull or customer support?

I like the hull but I couldn't seem to get answers or any kind of response to any question I had. Luckily there are people on here that helped out.

Mine hull was delivered with a few scratches and the graphics looked like they were thrown on quickly. The turf wasn't trimmed and is slowly coming off in places.

I have asked them to make me new graphics numerous times (which I said I will pay for) with no response, no nothing.

The person that designs the graphics for xscream is gladly designing me new sweet stuff to put on the ski.

I have ridden both. IMO i think the hulls right now for FW riding only are in alphabetical order, DVX, Havoc, Hurricane. I own a DVX, and have ridden almost every ski. D-Roc is spot on as always. He just rode my DVX a few weeks back. You cannot go wrong with any hulls anymore, unless its a fly by night place. Its all about set up, tuning, and what you are looking to do with it. If you ride FW, and want to only do BF, then short will get you there the quickest. If you want all around performance, then the three I mentioned. Remember the 4K hull will be worth 2 used, the 8K hull will hold its value, but cost more to start with. Just like cars.

I like em both, like Spacecowboy said the engine and pump will make a big difference. I rode a carbon Hurricane with PHP898 and loved it, tried a glass hurricane with a 701 and didn't like the ski much... I have rode DVX/KDX with 701 and 898, it is a fun ski with either package.

I think it might be tough for him to test ride all these hulls when he's in Denmark.

@justaintcare
What are you planning on putting in your ski (motor, pump, ignition)
Are you planning on competing or you just wanting to do flips and stuff?
