E Bay scam

Choppin' it up.
"You are viewing a 13/18 kick impeller for Yamaha Superjet, Waveblaster or any other PWC with a 144mm pump. This will give your boat an incredible bottom end. The pictures shown are the actual unit. This is a refurbished, repitched OEM impeller. It is not a Skat-Trak, please ignore the box. I had it redone but I never got around to installing it in my blaster."

Tricky fine print?

it sounds fine to me

he stated everything about it

looks like a blaster/vxr prop thats been repitched

where does he advertise that its an aftermarket prop. just has pictures of a sakt trak box.

why does he feel the need to put the Scat Trak box pic in the add?? Maybe an oversight? I dont think so.

thats what caught my eye. I saw a stock prop then a box that said scat trak.
To me it looks misleading, untill you read the whole add and find out its not a scat trak prop.

It's probably just the box he shipped it in is all. And I can see the kick in the blades but it is very slight. If it had been reworked by Skat or Impros, the finish would be different. But why rework a stock impeller? Well, when you do it yourself, or someone else did it, it's a sign you're too cheap to buy the right impeller in the first place. A properly "kicked" impeller requires a lot more motor to spin than the stock motor would have.

Im with Mick - he did NOT have to show that box unless he was banking on someone buying quickly w/o looking close. The pics dont even show the prop or the description until way down on the ad. Notice he also makes it quite clear the sale is final, no returns so he can just say you didn't read the ad fully. We wouldn't get caught on it but someone very well can and probably will.

He does have 100% feedback on more than 1,000 sales though...

I also save all my skat boxes for later use and safe storage of my props. If you ever receive a prop from me it will most likely come in a skat box too. Even if it's not a skat prop.:icon16:

i just bought a stock 08 prop on this site the other day and the seller told me it would be sent in a "hooker prop" box.

its worth saving the boxes because its very easy to ship the prop that way.

And those boxes are great for putting nuts/bolts in when tearing an engine down. Almost as good as a Yuasa battery box. I always keep them around.

my nieghbors give me maxwell house coffee cans every couple weeks they work great for that... plus you can label the lids with a marker

yeah 2 huge pics of the skat box then "please ignore the box" WTF. If you read he describes it pretty accurately - just trying to catch the quick last minute skimmers. Not quite a scam, but close!
